New Plymouth Girls High School

10 Girls

Age 16-17

Really cool bunch of girls who worked well together and were keen for hardcore activities.

Day 1
Bush bash and nav, flying fox, high ropes.

Day 2
Attempted Tongariro via the west ridge, great day, but didn't quite make it to the top, started up the steep section towards the top and had to turn around when it got too icey,

Day 3
Double cave mission via the dry valley (which wasn't too dry...)

Day 4
Joined with Lacey's group for overnight. Took sea kayaks out on lake Taupo, from Omori to Te Hapua Bay. The girls really moved on the way out there and it was flat and glassy. Had fun camp activities and cooking over the fire which saw the girls turn a bit feral (as well as their teachers) was good to see them all loosen up.

Day 5
Wind picked up in the morning and we were paddling into a strong headwind, got quite lumpy out there and really slowed us down. Good fun though,
