6 boys, 4 girls
Age 14-15
This was not meant to be my team, I started out filling in for Simon, and ended up with them for the week. this created a strange dynamic between me and them for the first few days, I felt I was trying to stay slightly detached from them, but by the end of the second day they were my crew and did not want to switch. The majority of this team were great and worked really well together, the remaining three were hard work and enjoyed creating conflict within the group, so working on the team dynamics was the main focus. The team had lots of ups and downs, but achieved a lot through the week.
Day 1 - Low ropes, big session in the Swamp, High Ropes (Giant's Ladder)
Evening - Presentation at the lodge, used the "No Doze Leadership Styles" and then the "Keypad" game, successful and the kids enjoyed it.
Day 2 - Double cave - Nav to Okupata, Okupata Cave, Dry valley to Pukahinau Cave, Nav back to the van.
Day 3 - Rock Climbing at Middle Earth (Don observing)
Day 4 - Sit on top kayak session at Lake Te Whaiou, Bridge jump, out to Joe's Cave for Overnight ( I had an off track nav. mission planned, but due to thunderstorms I changed plan)
Day 5 - Back from Joe's cave.
